Astronomically seen they are in the middle of summer, popularly seen the last third of summer begins. Here daylength is about 10hours and increases by about 3min per day. In Fairbanks they have about 8hours and gain almost 7min per day, whereas in southern Chile daylength is about 15hours and decreases by 4min per day.
