This graphic shows the Earth's postition on its orbit around the sun on March 1st with colors that indicate the northern hemisphere's seasons. Again we enter a phase of changes: Astronomically seen we are in the last third of winter, popularly seen we are in the first days of spring - this is in fact what you observe here in Central Europe at the moment. Undoubtfully the days get longer and the sun is more powerful, but again: this doesn't guarantee the seasonality of the weather: wind currents are more influential than the solar altitude and can bring cold in summer and heat in winter - which isn't a sign of climate change as long as there is a balance of hotter and colder areas. Probably much more relevant is the question WHY we had so much Arctic air in North America and so often subtropical air in Central Europe which shifted the zero degree level hundreds of kilometers north. Have the seasonal weather patterns changed or is everything within the bounds of normality? - Anyway: within three weeks we reach the spring equinox point of our orbit around the sun which means that there will be less than 50% of the time for nighttime cooling and we must expect a significant warming effect - on condition that there won't be any unseasonal air currents...
