This graphic shows the Earth's postition on its orbit around the sun on April 1st with colors that indicate the northern hemisphere's seasons. After the spring equinox we are undoubtably in spring - but once again: this doesn't guarantee the seasonality of the weather: it brought us what we didn't have for most of the winter: snow! - The sun's declination will increase from about 4 to 14°, in May only from 14 to 21°. We gain 3min of daylight every April day, in Oslo they gain about 5min, in Fairbanks almost 7min and in Barrow even more; in Buenos Aires they loose about 2min per day. As the nights get shorter and shorter there will be less and less time for cooling. Therefore we must expect an ongoing rise in temperature - despite record highs in the first months of 2014 in Central Europe.
