Our weather has moderated significantly since a few days ago. When I took these photos, close to our solar noon (12:40 pm) the temperature was - 6.5C. What a big difference! I read in the newspaper that last month was the sixth coldest November since 1907, when they started collecting temperature data. We have had some snow over the last few days so I measured the new accumulation (65 mm) and also the depth of the total snow pack (235 mm). It is quite lovely and wonderful for skiing and snowshoeing. You might notice something interesting in the second photo, in the lower right corner. A moose was in our yard last night and bedded down right here in my photo area! I have sent a third image so you can see a better picture of where the moose lay down. I am afraid that it is hard to see but the light was very low today, not only due to the low angle of light but it was overcast, as well. The sun rose today at 10:24 am and set at 2:59 pm giving us a total day length of 4 hours and 36 minutes. Three days ago, when it was last sunny, I went out at solar noon at the University and measured the length of the shadow cast by a meter stick. It was 10.8 m long!
