The temperature at 2 pm, almost exactly Solar Noon, was -1 C and the snow depth in the study area averaged 410 mm.
We have been having quite typical weather for this time of year, sunny, sunny days with temperatures climbing above freezing during the day and then dropping to around - 12 C at night. We have seen some melting - just enough to make us feel hopeful for summer, but just a little every day. However, it sounds like it will be clouding up and not getting so warm during the day for the next week or so. So we must be patient!
The sun rose yesterday at 7:03 am and will set at 8:48 pm for a total day length of 13 hours and 46 minutes. Wow!
