It has been very dry and windy lately (except the last 2 days were overcast and cooler) and there are several fires burning around the Interior. The mosquitoes have been more numerous and aggressive than in recent years. I wonder if this is because we had a higher snow pack than in recent years and also a long, cool spring, which would mean more moisture around for them to breed in. I also noticed that our returning spring migrant birds were later than in the last few years and our green up was rather late as well.
