Currently snow is falling here in
Ester. When I took these photos, there was 5mm of new snow on the ground
and the accumulated snowpack was 545 mm. The temperature at the time I took
these photos was -11 C.
The skiing and snowshoeing have been wonderful. This is because of the deep
snowpack, but also our temperatures have been moderate (between - 5 to -15
C during the day). The longer and warmer days mean more time for outdoor
winter activities!
We are enjoying so much daylight now! In a few weeks it will be Spring
Equinox and so we are not far from 12 hours of total daylight. Today the
sun rose at 8:02 am and will set at 6:07 pm, giving us 10 hours and 4
minutes of daylight. Wonderful!
