The weather during the Easter holidays was like shown on the picture and
totally different to the one in Hammerfest. There was a strong high
pressure here on the southern part of Norway which created many small polar
low pressures just off the coast of the northern part of the country. These
gave us snow every day of our stay. We have a small cottage 35 miles from
the coast and I had to clear the roof from snow. The average thickness of
the snow on top of the roof was 1 m and an estimated weight of totally 5
tons. At the end I didn't thow the snow down but up. In Hammerfest I used
the snow shovel every day.
Now we have had two days of snowing here in Stavern, but even if there is
frost in the ground the snow is melting. No one has started to prepare
their boats for the season, but the starlings have arrived.
