The picture of August is taken Wednesday 7th August after our
return to Stavern.
The July in Stavern has been wonderful. High temperatures and blue skies.
Unfortunately we stayed in the other part of Norway during half of these
days but that didn't matter. The weather in the north has been marvelous
during June and after a couple of weeks in July they got the nice weather
back again. Our 15 days there was fantastic. We had rain two mornings and
then the sun was shining.
Cloudberries is very popular in Finnmark and the rest of the northern part
of Norway and this summer the ground was full of these yellow berries and
they were ready to be picked at least three weeks earlier than normal. It's
difficult to bring them down south in aeroplanes but we got 5 kilos. They
are loaded with C - vitamins. We have a summerplace 60 km from the coast
and usually in the July there are lot of mosquitoes in the area and I mean
a lot! But this year they too were ahead of the season so I didn't see
any.
