We had colder than average weather in May and June, and record rain in
June. With more rain, more grasses are on the hills, giving more fuel
for wild fires. However, the plants still have moisture so should not
catch fire as easily.
The snow in the Sierra Neveada Mountains did not melt quickly. June
has a record snow pack. The valley is under a flood watch. With
temperatures now higher, the melting snow may cause floods.
