Here is the picture from Raudavatn taken on the 23rd of December two days after winter solstice. Now we were lucky with the weather when we took the picture the sky was honoured with the northern lights as they ran across the sky and we saw Orion constellation quite well embedded in green light. The temperature was minus 6 degrees Celsius. We had a white Christmas and the weather was rather calm so people could enjoy being outdoors. Raudavatn is now covered with ice and has been so for some time. It is always good to get snow on the ground during the darkest time of the year. There are many Christmas lights on houses and in streets so it is not so dark as it could otherwise be. It snows constantly now, and we have got a lot of snow and it will probably remain for a while.
