Here is the picture from Rauðavatn lake taken in July. The weather in July has been rather nice or about 15 ° C in average which seems good in Reykjavik during the summer. The lupine has nearly completed flowering and the pondweed (Potamogeton (Icel. nikra) is growing in the water and gives it a reddish color. Snow has mostly melted from the mountains although the month of June was rather cool in the beginning but very warm in the end. This photo is taken in the afternoon and that day it was unusually warm or 19° C.
The weather in July 2016 was considered particularly favorable in the south and west country where Raudavatn is.
Precipitation was quite high in some parts of the eastern country but in the west it was a little below average. Sunshine was well above average in the Southwest.
The average temperature (July) in Reykjavík (Raudavatn) was 12.5 points, 1.9 points above the average 1961 to 1990, and 0.4 points above the average of the last ten years.
