It has been unusual warm in Iceland this autumn. It has been rainy and the precipitation has been above average. The weather has been sullen and gloomy most of the time. We have not had much sunshine. The average temperature in Reykjavík was 3.5 points last month or about 2.4 points above the average temperature from of the years 1961 to 1990. We have nearly seen snow yet, only two days last mount we got some snow and it melted very quickly. When the picture was taken in the afternoon at Raudavatn the temperature was +8°C which is rather unusual at this time of year. As you notice we have not got snow now in the mountains so it will be some time before we can go skiing this winter.
