The picture is taken in the afternoon a few days after solstice of the year in Iceland.
The heat was - 3 ° C and there is ice on the lake and people skating on the ice. The moon can been seen on the left through the tree on the picture and it is almost half. There is snow all over the place now, not much on the southern part of the country and the Reykjavík ski area has just opened. It is in the mountains in the background on the picture. It has been quite cold lately and fairly stable weather conditions, but the weather is a variable here in Iceland during the winter and temperatures can fluctuate by many degrees through the day.
