The river levels are surprisingly high due to unseasonably high temperatures during June and early July, which you also noted in your recent email. Indeed, we have had very little rain this summer in south-central Alaska, and no rain at all during the three weeks of June. In the latter half of July, however, our temperatures have returned to the normal range of 55 F to 75 F (night and daytime average), and we have had several days of much-needed rain.
