February 2019: After cleaning my 10 nesting boxes in the forest I went home along a forest creek. When I had a look at different icicles I discovered this amazing phenomenon: water that dropped from the icicles often formed comparatively large drops that floated on the water surface for several seconds until they dissolved! Sometimes they floated 30-50cm while others dissolved when they touched the surface. The drop that floats through the light reflection shows how the water surface is dented! I don't know why this happens and how it can be explained. Please tell me if you know more about this phenomenon.
