This graphic shows the Earth's postition on its orbit around the sun on July 1st. As we have already passed the solstice point we on the northern hemisphere have entered the first halftime of decreasing solar altitude but will get the warmest season whereas on the southern hemisphere daylength is increasing again but nevertheless the coldest days are in the flavor of the month.
