Changes in the last month: Arctic: the snow line has retreated much, but surprisingly the Hudson Bay is still frozen. There is a big open area between Greenland and the Baffin Island. Also north of Siberia we can see first spots of open water. Also the passage between Alaska and Siberia is ice-free now. Antarctica: The ring of ice around Antarctica has become wider but still the peninsula isn't surrounded by ice.
