2013-2014 compare end of July: Arctic: North of Canada / Alaska there is a broader ice-free area than last year. This year the sea ice still touches Svalbard and the Franz Josef Land. The ice-free area north of the Lena delta is bigger this year. Antarctica: Less sea ice around the Antarctic peninsula in 2014. More snow in southern America this year.
