November 2014: Leaf of a European beech [Fagus sylvatica] (Rotbuche) in the mild late autumn afternoon sun (backlit photo): While some beeches have already lost all their leaves, some have turned from green directly to brown, some are still almost green, and others, like this one, only now, after some sunny days with cool nights, start to change color and seem to turn from green to yellow - which finally gives a beautiful aspect to the forests - and then only to brown - unless a sudden weather change or a storm disrupt this process...
