This diagram shows the sun's declination and allows you to find out on what other day of the year the sun had / will have the same declination as on a certain day. Example: November 5th: the sun's angle is about the same (-16°) as on February 5th which is much more wintry than November 5th. We can also see that on the southern hemisphere conditions are about the same as here in early May (declination +16° is in early May and August), so they must be in full spring now.
