April 2017 really lived up to its name: After a warm beginning we got a late hard frost which damaged most of the fruit trees in my region. About one week later an unusual weather situation (warm and wet air from the Mediterranean region met with cold air from north east) brought a closed snow cover for several days! As most of the trees were already in full leaf the heavy snow damaged many of them. When it cleared up after the snowfall we had another frost - all together a difficult situation not only for fruit growers.
